Why we’re building this
Here is the shift we’re building for. AI is collapsing the cost of building software. What used to take a team, a budget, and months now takes one person and an afternoon. The things you rent today, a CRM, an invoicing tool, a scheduler, a reporting dashboard, are becoming things you can simply build and own.
The biggest companies already live this way. They run on their own models, their own apps, their own billing and data tools, instead of paying every month for someone else’s. They do it because at their scale, owning beats renting: no lock-in, no per-seat tax, no waiting on a vendor’s roadmap. That same capability is now in reach for a one-person shop.
But owning a pile of custom apps just trades one mess for another. The thing that actually lasts isn’t any single app, it’s the method underneath: your whole business organized as plain, open files that any AI can read and run. Models change every few months. Tools come and go. A method outlives all of them. When a better AI ships, you point it at the same files and keep everything.
We didn’t invent this from scratch. It’s built on ideas the whole field is converging on: the “LLM wiki” Andrej Karpathy describes, the research on how AI agents actually work best with structured context (Van Clief and McDermott, 2026), and the Open Knowledge Format that Google standardized so knowledge stays portable. We packaged those into something an owner can actually run.
